What happens when a Certification Junkie lifes to near to a Testcenter? – Certification Overload!

Hi everyone,

since 10 months I life in a walking distance from about 20 minutes to a Microsoft Testcenter.

As resultate, I’m taking exams everytime my calender allows it. Currently I’m going for one exam per month, mainly without any preperation.

I only want to test my current knowledge which I gained by my job and personal interest.

As a resultate, I ended up with gaining following certifications in the last 12 months.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Core Infrastructure
    • Implementing a Software-Defined Datacenter
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Cloud Platform
    • Configuring and Operating a Hybrid Cloud with Microsoft Azure Stack
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure

Next to go, will be the new Modern Workplace Certifications and maybe the Microsoft DevOps Certfications. 🙂

Currently I save some money for the certified ethnical hacker certification. 🙂 Donations are welcome :p

If you have any question regarding the exams, just drop me a comment or mail.

Cheers,
Flo

You want to become a Hyper-V Superstar? You need the PowerCourse!

I had the chance to participate Carsten Rachfahls Hyper-V Power Course V2 in the week from 10. December to 14. December in Hallenberg Germany.

I have to say, it was a great experience. I work with Hyper-V since 2009 and I think I know something about it but in this course you get also a extrem deep dive in all functions of Hyper-V and all dependencies.

Carsten and his CoTrainer Jan Kappen are very experienced technicians and have also a wide knowledge in consulting and support.

Both brought all this experiences in their new Hyper-V course based on Windows Server 2012 RTM.

What can you learn? At first they build up the elementary knowledge for all who never worked with Hyper-V before, after this they dive with you into Hyper-V replica, networking , Live Migration, Clustering, SMB 3.0 and all other functions.

For every feature they build a lab so that you can try it by yourself and in different use cases.

As you know I participate the Windows Server 2012 Upgrade Course in the beta Version at Microsoft (Redmond, WA, America) in August this year.

When I compare both courses to each other my resume is the following.

When you want to become a good overview about all new Windows Server 2012 features you will do right with the official MOC course but you will not get a deeper introduction in Hyper-V. When you want real big and awesome Hyper-V knowledge, you have to join the Hyper-V Course of Carsten Rachfahl and Jan Kappen.

But be aware, this Hyper-V Course week is very hard and full of stuff you need to see and learn.

How can I see which Exam I need for my next Microsoft Certification?

Hi everybody,

also a questions that I want to answer for some guy’s of my community.

How can I see the exam requirements for my next Microsoft Certification without searching on Microsoft Learning Pages.

Nothing easiert than this.

1. Go to http://mcp.microsoft.com

2. Log in with your live ID that is connected to your MCP Account.

3. On your MCP Mainpage click on “My Certifcation Planer” (please enable Popups in your browser or for this page)

4. Now you see a list of all Certifications that are available from your current exam status.

5. Click on the Certification you want to earn and a Popup will open (that’s the reason for enabled Popups).

6. When you expand the requirements you see, which combination is possible to earn the Certification and if you failed a Requirement.

many people at work ask me, what to do to get the CompTIA Welcome kit shipped after they passed the Exam.

So that’s the reason why I prepared this blog.

After you have passed your Exam you receive an email. When you received this mail go to https://www.certmetrics.com/comptia/. If you don’t receive the mail after 5 day’s you can also check this page. In the past I had the issue that I didn’t get an update mail from certmetrics.

2. At the startsscreen of your CompTIA Page you should see the following message.

3. Klich on Demographics

4. Update your Personal Data and than scroll down to the bottom of the page

5. when you filed out the fields and reached the bottom of the page, click on “Submit”

6. When the update was successfull you should see this message.

7. Please click on “Please continue to the next step”

8. Set the privacy settings and scroll down to the bottom of the page again.

9. At the bottom of the page click “Submit”

10. If all is correct you see this message.

11. If you want to see if your Fullfillment request was saved click “Fullfillment”

12. At the end of the page you see a table that shows you the status

When you see queued and the current date. The status will updated automaticly. The fullfillment can take up to 3 month, depending where you are located. for germany it takes up to 9 weeks.
